This weekend plays host to a day that is either one of the most romantic of the year or one of the most obnoxious – it’s all a matter of perspective! Here’s a few ideas to keep yourself amused, whatever your tolerance for romance.
It seems a popular activity for Valentine’s day will be a visit to the V&A Museum’s Wedding Dresses exhibition with tickets are already sold out for Saturday! That said, tickets are still available for Sunday, so grab the chance to see this great collection – including the bridal gowns worn by Kate Moss, Gwen Stefani, and the Duchess of Cornwall – before it closes on 15 March.
If the review of Burger and Lobster earlier this week has you in the mood for crustaceans, check out the Lobster Love In on Friday night at The Proud Archivist. For £50, you get a glass of prosecco, a set menu (including a bucket of mixed crustaceans), and live entertainment.
Finally, if you’re looking for the antidote to all the consumerist romance in the air, take yourself out to the 71a Gallery in Shoreditch to check out Breaking Bad character portraits by Ralph Steadman. Entry is free and the exhibition is only open this weekend!
