IMG_20150724_101948After a few weeks away from London, I’m looking forward to a weekend in the city! If you’re also sticking around, here’s some ideas of what to do…

If you’ve always wondered what it’s like to be royalty, now’s your chance! Buckingham Palace opens its doors from Saturday for two months while the Queen is away for the summer. See the nineteen magnificent State Rooms which provide the setting for ceremonial occasions and official entertaining, as well as a behind-the-scenes display about how State Visits and official royal occasions are organised. Tickets cost £20.50 for adults, which can be converted into a one-year pass by requesting your ticket purchase be treated as a donation. Buy online from the Royal Collection.

On Saturday, head to Trafalgar Square to the Eid Festival celebrate the end of Ramadan. Expect delicious Malaysian, Turkish, South Asian, Egyptian, Lebanese, Indonesian, and Arabic cuisine, as well as live music, performances, and children’s activities. The festival runs 12 noon to 6pm. Find out more.

And all weekend, you can enjoy the Foodies Festival on Clapham Common. Enjoy tastings, masterclasses, street food, chef presentations, artisan produce and pop-up restaurants. Tickets are £15 for a single day or £25 for the full three days. Buy your tickets online.
