Saturday is Record Store Day, celebrating the UK’s independent record stores. Special vinyl and CD releases, and various promotional products will be made exclusively for the day and hundreds of artists from across the globe will be appearing and performing. And on Saturday night, the Royal Academy Late’s theme will be California Soul & Drink. The Richard Diebenkorn exhibition will be open all evening and there will be performances by Joni Mitchell-inspired folk singer/songwriter Ellie Rusbridge, talks by skater/filmmaker Winstan Whitter on the emergence of skateboarding in California, and a 70s fashion dress-up space.
