This week has been so glorious, you’d almost be forgiven for forgetting you’re in London! If the weather kicks on through the weekend, my recommendation is to take to the parks (did you know 40% of London is green space?) If not, try out these ideas…
To help ease into the weekend, Hummingbird Bakery and Candy Crush Soda Saga are giving away 800 cupcakes on Friday from 12pm – 4pm. Just go to the Hummingbird Bakeries in Spitalfields or Soho, show staff that you’ve downloaded Candy Crush Soda Saga on your smartphone and get your cupcake!
As part of its new Agender campaign (about dressing beyond ‘he’ or ‘she’ and simply think ‘me’), Selfridges has teamed up with Scott Schuman of The Sartorialist to find and photograph the best Agender style. Five entrants will be selected to take part in a street style shoot with Schuman, with three of those then selected to appear in a street-style shoot on Selfridges’ website and social media. Casting takes place 6-9pm on Friday at the Old Selfridges Hotel, Orchard Street.
The Affordable Art Fair is on at Battersea from 12-15 March. There will be 112 galleries offering an array of original artworks from over 1,100 artists – with a good selection on sale for under £500. The team behind the fair wants to make art as fun, accessible, and affordable as possible. If your walls are looking a bit bare, tickets are available online from £10.80.
Finally, if your Mum is in the UK, don’t forget Mother’s Day on Sunday! (And if you celebrate Australian, American, or any other country’s Mother’s Day, make sure to buy a card now because you won’t be able to find one in May!)
